Highlights of Matthew Perry’s Career

Millions across the world pay tribute to actor Matthew Perry, after death on Saturday.

Perry passed at the age of 54 in his Los Angeles home after an apparent drowning.

Throughout his life, Matthew Perry has left a legacy in film and tv. He entertained millions of people who continued to follow his career and looked up to him.

He was best known for his role of Chandler Bing in the popular sitcom Friends which averaged 25 million viewers per week and was the number 1 sitcom for six consecutive years. It also brought in $1.4 billion for the stars and creators

Maggie Wheeler, who worked with Perry on hit show Friends, remembered Matthew Perry by posting a picture of them on Instagram with the caption: “What a loss. The world will miss you, Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.” Which gained over one million likes.

He also stared in the 2000 movie “The Whole Nine Yards” with Bruce Willis and Amanda Peet. He played a struggling dentist whose life got turned around when a famous gangster moved in next door. Co-stars’ son, Rumer Willis remembers Matthew Perry on an Instagram story, writing, “I'm so sad to hear about Matthew Perry passing. When I was a kid, and I was on Set while he and my dad were doing whole nine and whole 10 yards he was so kind and funny and sweet with my sisters and me and I think his physical Comedy and that movie still makes me laugh so much."

She went on to say, "I know he had many challenges in his life and brought a lot of joy to people with his comedy I hope he can rest peacefully."

Perry released a book in 2022 called “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing” and described it as the most “honest and raw memoir” as he opens about his mental health and substance addiction problems along with his rise to stardom.

He also stared in the 2006 movie The Ron Clark Story which led him to win a Gold Derby Award for TV Movie/Mini Lead Actor and be nominated for TV Movie/Mini Lead Actor of the Decade.

Perry not only stared in 2015 TV series The Odd Couple but also helped develop the show and was executive producer.

He also produced other shows and movies like Go On, Mr Sunshine and The Odd Couple, and voiced one of the actors in The Simpsons episode “Treehouse of Horror XII”
